Divan Base
A divan base is an upholstered timber bed base that sits directly under your mattress — no slats, no separate frame. Ours are made in the UK in six standard sizes, from £99.99, as a plain divan or a gas-lift ottoman base with full-footprint storage.
Divan base or ottoman base?
A divan base gives firm, even support and can take drawers; an ottoman base lifts on gas struts so the whole base becomes storage. Choose an ottoman if you need to store bulky items such as bedding or suitcases, and a divan if you want the lowest price or plan to open drawers daily.
Do I need a reinforced top?
A reinforced (solid) top spreads weight more evenly and is worth considering for heavier sleepers or pocket-sprung mattresses. The Balmoral base has it built in; on bed sets it is a £49.99 upgrade.
Will a headboard fit my base?
Yes. Our strutted headboards bolt to the pre-drilled head end of any of our divan bases, and floor-standing headboards simply stand behind the bed. Both are made to the width of your base.

What sizes do divan bases come in?
Six UK sizes: 2'6 small single (75 × 190 cm), 3' single (90 × 190 cm), 4' small double (120 × 190 cm), 4'6 double (135 × 190 cm), 5' king (150 × 200 cm) and 6' super king (180 × 200 cm). Ottoman bases start at 3' single.
Are divan bases split into two halves?
Larger bases are commonly supplied in two halves that zip or bolt together, which makes delivery up narrow stairs easier. We confirm the build for your size before delivery.
How long does delivery take?
Free two-man delivery to mainland Great Britain, room of choice, usually within 3–10 working days. Every order is made to order in the UK, and we confirm your delivery date once it is in production.
